Golden State Warriors Lose Kwame Brown To Injury. Kyrylo Fesenko On Line One

Now the Warriors will need to sign a cheap big man to fill the void for Brown.

  1. Uh, oh.  That’s not good news for the Dubs who just spent $7 million on Brown.  If Fesenko’s agent is worth his salt, he’s already spoken with the Warriors and has Fess on the next plane out.

Brown is significant loss for Ws given his strong interior defensive presence. Hope the team still has Kyrylo Fesenko on speed dial.

I came across this display in walmart today. Now I don’t have any numbers to back me up, but I can’t believe that there’s so much demand for compressed air that they need three shelves full of this stuff.

20% more? Well that’s just a bonus.

The Associated Press: Marlins get long-coveted Miami ballpark.

When the Florida Marlins won the 1997 World Series, there was a rumor that the movie Back to the Future II had predicted this.  Not quite.

The film predicts that the Cubs would sweep Miami, not Florida, in the 2015 World Series.

But now, news came out today that the Florida Marlins would become the Miami Marlins in 2011 when the team finally gets its own stadium.  Creepy.  I’m thinking about putting down a solid bet for that year.

Still needed, the Marlins will need to move to the American League by then as well.  Could happen.  Bump Kansas City or the Twins to the West (the Timberwolves play in the North West division in the NBA), move Toronto to the Central, and transplant Florida to the East.  Done and done.

Unfortunately, the Jaws franchise needs to release about 3 films a year to catch up to the Jaws 19 prediction.

via Launch Alert « Streamy Blog:

Mark your calendars!  We will be taking Streamy live on March 19, 2009.  Our small team has been working hard for a long time, and we think we’ve got a great product for you.  You’ll hear more from us before then!

Can’t believe it’s happening.  First GrandCentral.com finally launching as Google Voice?  Now this?  Big changes coming in my web habits.

Streamy updated their blog for the first time in about two month.  Still no word of a release date yet, just announcing they’re launching a DV blog.  They did give this tidbit,

As we open up the new year, we will make new announcements regarding Streamy, its features, products, and, of course, the planned launch.  Check in regularly for news.

For right now, I’m using Google Reader.  The best part of Reader is the share option so that others can see your recommended rss feeds.  The ability to share and post from anywhere on the web via their javascript shortcut makes sharing easy.  The Google Reader blog has a great video for those that want to start using it.  Once you start using it, you won’t be able to live without it:

I don’t know if Streamy will be able to pull me away from Google Reader if/when it does decide to launch.  I think it’s expected right before Duke Nukem Forever goes gold.

Not only do you have to upgrade your iPod every year, you have to upgrade your accessories as well.  I tried plugging in my new iPod Touch to the car adapter using my wife’s charger for her Video iPod.  It’s the same connector and identical to the other connectors.  Yet when I plugged my Touch in, I got this,

So now you have to buy another $20 charger for the car.  Ridiculous.

My solution was to buy a charger that has a USB connector on the end.  So the current cord and any future cords will work because it’s USB.

If you’re buying the Dark Knight Two-Disc Special Edition DVD, make sure to slide the shrink-wrapped portion out of the outer box to make sure you’re getting the widescreen version.  I haven’t seen the Dark Knight yet, so I was pretty anxious to watch it when it came out on DVD.  I brought  it home, pulled it out of the sleeve, and got:

Aaaaaaah!  I don’t know why we have full screen any more.  Just put everything in widescreen.  The black bars at the top and bottom aren’t that big of a deal, are they?

The bad thing is that there’s nothing on the cover of the special edition to indicate whether it’s widescreen.  I assumed that it would be since it’s the special edition and all.  Bad assumption on my part:

Couldn’t find anything on the back either that would indicate the format.  So make sure to slide the container out of the sleeve before you leave the store.

[UPDATE] – This probably wasn’t the fault of the distributor.  More than likely someone swapped out the two-disc edition for the cheaper single-disc version.  Although, the sleeve has a hole in it for the barcode, so that wouldn’t have worked anyway.  Either way, make sure you’re getting the right one.
